You callin me below average??? Just kiddin! The built-in's are lower and on the sides - they are also angled in a little bit for better foot placement. I tried them on a bike last Summer and liked them a lot. Not familiar with the Kury ones though, so I can't say.

Glad to see you got your ride back up. I like the red you have on your bike now. Not the crimson you had on the left side in the other pics.

I was pinned between two trucks in a low-speed crash last January. The crashbar kept the bike upright after the collision - and more importantly, saved my right leg. It was bent back 45-degrees. I bought a new one and installed it immediately. I'll always run a crash bar - and it's a nice place to have my highway pegs mounted, inside the bars for easy lane splitting.

I did a poll on this about two months ago, same exact thing I am not crazy about the look but it was like 90-10 in favor of leaving it on so I did for now. What I am going to do is take it off while riding locally then when I am going on a road trip I will install it before I leave.

We are talking 800+ lb motorcycles here guys. One falls over, there's most likely gonna be some damage. Insurance may pay for it but you got deductible to clear first and as soon as you make a claim, they are going to raise your rates.

No matter how careful you are, a drop can happen in an instant and when it starts, there is nothing you can do about it except try and get out of the way. I went 5 years and was feeling real smug, then dropped my ride twice within three months. Engine guards saved me fromany damage except for a bent foot peg.

In 2008 HD came out with 31 different models and only 7 models have engine guards. Take it off. If you sit around worrying about what if this or what if that happens you may as well sell the bike. There are a lot of if and thats out there.

Try the HD Mustache Guard. I am 5' 8" and it works for me. It is a little smaller and shaped differently than stock. I like the looks better. In fact I don't use it that much - just to stretch out for a while - its mostly on my bike for the look.
