WTF ?
You need to read the mag moss act , then consult a attorney and see if harley wants to void yer warranty. If what goes wrong with yer bike wan't related to what you did that's a different thing.
If Harley has a junk warranty what good it it anyway. Why didn't they put better bearing in the cases and a better crank to start with.

The 26 gives you more bottom end and mid range where the bike is rode at. But that's just me.
I will probaly put some TW6-6 Woods cams in mine.

I'm here to tell you right now. Harley attorneys already know where they stand and how much it will cost you to try and press them to honor a warranty. It's hard to win a battle like that.
the bottom line is this. If you're going to mod your engine, make sure its by the harley guidelines. Or just get ready to except you have no warranty. I personally know I will never trust a dealer again. I will do my research before next time. Lesson learned. And lesson two, harley dont know performance. they know bolt on.
I feel your pain I'm in the middle of my 4th build in 3 years but my 1st experiance with motor mods was with a HD dealer, and like someone has already said they just bolt on parts and there not very good ones. My 2nd build was with a indy shop and they didnt do much better, I never have worried about dyno numbers but I was getting out run by a stock 88" softtail. So do your home work before you start spending more $. My 3rd build(it ran great, real strong 95")and now my 4th is by the same guy (we have become good freinds) so be careful because you have to strain everything you herethrought your teeth cause everyone will tell you somthing different. I know that Ive been told that 25 different cams are the best, and I think alot of them are good but They have to match the rest of your parts. Good luck.. Oh the build I'm doing now (117") is because enough really isnt enough
Sounds familiar. I just finished a 103 dealer build 253 cams. Its no world beater even geared down with a 30 tooth trans. sprocket. I have an 08 so the fly by wire throttle complicates things evenfurther not to mention lean burn issues. All I can say is that my 05 RK 95 with carb and heads sure ran stronger. Good luck and as you can see by my experience you'renot alone.
Accepting the fact that I was threw with HD warranty was the 1st thing I realized.
HD does a parts build. Why buy new jugs when you can have yers done. A easy way for you to still ride yer bike longer is to find you a newer set of heads and jugs that come off a new bike and buy them. Find a indy dude. Talk about what kind of riding yer going to be doing and have the heads sent off and ported and polished for that build. have them along with the piston, cams the tuner yer gonna use and then yer bike won't be down as long.

I've had experience with the Mag Moss act. Harley says if you mod you're bike in any way that goes contrary to the warranty agreement. You void the warranty. The dealers try to keep builds secret to get the business. The fact of the matter is this. If the dealer did the mod work and that was the contributing factor for the failure, then the dealer is responsible, but the dealer only has a ninety day warranty on their work. Harley makes it very clear to the dealers what is covered.

I feel that when we make decisions like opening up the motor and changing it up for more HP/TQ we have already made the decision to take things into our own hands. Warranty is widely discussed on this and many other forums. When we start playing the HP/TQ game it is all a gamble. Ever heard of we live by the choices we make? Way to much we look to blame someone for our own decisions and outcome. The information is out there to be had. Nobody should make an impulse decision with so much $ at stake. Just my opinion. I did my build last year and what I learned is that there is a lot of learning to do!
I am dealing with ping and tuning issues, may have been a bit to aggressive with my build. Full knowing the possibilities thanks to all the info here and on the net. One thing I will agree with is F the dealers!! Problem is HD is spoiled by us being loyal and they take advantage where they can.
The way I see it the warranty blows anyway, I spend loads of $ on stuff and then seem to change it out just look into my classified record I am always buying or selling something. I feel it is just apart of this love for the bikes we ride. I am very un happy to hear that so much money was spent!! Please stay tuned to this forum and research!! Good luck!
Oh yea as for warranty you are still covered, only if what you did to the motor causes a problem that would not be covered. If your fairing bracket brakes (like mine and a few hundred others did) that would still be covered. Search warranty here on the forum and you will find good info someone posted a great article about the legalities of it.

It really sucks that you got such poor results from the dealer build. I for one would never let a dealer take my motor apart. You can probably make that motor work though. Change to a 2into1 pipd like a D&D, Supertrapp or ProPipe then get a good tune up from a well qualified SERT tuner (hard to find). Do you know your compression ratio? 9.8:1 is what the tw37 likes.
I stay as far away from the dealers as possible.
Warranty was never an issue to me I knew my warranty was pretty much over when I rode away because I fear the dealer hacks so badly.
Hey Cardboard, The 6-6's ROCK!!
