If you want a good, safe jack then get a J&S. Yes, it costs more than the Sears . . . for a reason. http://www.jsjacks.com/
Go to their site and watch the video. Here are some pics of mine. If the search feature was working, you would find hundreds of posts in favor of this jack.
Good luck for me with the Yellow Craftsman. Only real complaint is the valve is too darn sensitive so you can drop the bike way fast if your not really carefull. I am thinking about changing to heavy weight oil to slow it down.
She Who Must Be Obeyed Got me the red one for Christmas. EG has been on it for the last couple months. No a lot of up & down, yet so we'll see. I like the fact that it came with the tie dows straps, though. Saved me a trip to the store.
I bought the yellow Sears jack this week after asking the same question on this forum.. It works great on my Ultra (just like everyone said)... It also rocks a little bit just like some people mentioned.. I think my center stand is part of the reason for rocking

I bought the #1545 which is made by OTC. It lowers to 3.5 in. and fits under with room to spare. I did not like the yellow one because you pump it up with the long handle like a regular floor jack. Requires more room while jacking. The 1545 has a foot pump.
