I rarely touch my pipes with my boots but it will give something to do when it is raining well a little something to do. $6.95 for the rod, a piece of left over metal, about 10 min. welding or less, and about $1.50 worth of paint or $5.00 for chroming.
The real reason I originally bought them was to take the strain off my right leg. I don't care for highway bars and at 70 / 75 mph for an extended time, the wind would try to blow my leg off the floorboard. Gives my leg something to rest against.
