Can you remove the pin stripes from an Ultra?

Default Can you remove the pin stripes from an Ultra?
I just bought an '08 Ultra classic and love everything except the pin stripes. I prefer the clean look. Can you effectively remove the stripes without damaging the black pearl paint?

Not really. They are under the clear.

Not only are they under the clear, they are bonded to the base coat. I have repainted many stock, pinstriped tanks and fenders and the pinstripes are a
b!tch to get rid of.

Sure you can, it's called replace or repaint. Simple but expensive either way.
