It's all in the spacing, so suck it up, bite your tongue and get back to work.
LMFAO!!!
No disrespect here man, but "Git 'Er Done". There are no moving parts involved. I sell vernier calipers at the counter for $2 so that people can figure out for themselves what they need. Sometimes, H-D instructions are ridiculous. I've seen P&A Bulletins come out and a year later they're still selling stuff with the wrong instructions.
Or, just accept that 90% of add-on's fit like socks on a chicken and move on.
If there is a dealer nearby run over there in the morning and let them look at it. They will do it for free and tell you if you have everything adjusted right (spacers, etc.).
Been there and done that. Problem with these kits is that they are made for 15+ different applications all in one package.
The service manage at the dealer will help you out.
I'm not telling you to accept things as they are, just that I spent 2 hrs finally getting the spacing right. I guess I'm comin across offensive. Don't mean to.

Big Daddy2, if that's your picture you use as an avatar you can come off any damn way you please..I ain't tellin you no different.
I agree with everyone else instructions suck, you spend enough time trying different things you can get it to line up the way it originally did. It took me a couple of days of stopping because I was about to take a hammer to something..then I got a second set of hands and it all came together..a few cold ones didn't hurt anything.
