Default RE: broken spokes

I will never get rid of my spokes. I learned years ago with dirt bikes that spokes must be checked often for tightness. These bikes are not maintenance free. There is nothing on a Harley that doesn't need to be inspected at least once in a while. Checking spokes takes a whole ten minutes of your time. If you don't have that much time and don't want to take it to the dealer every other week, then get rid of them.

Yeah, well when my spokes came apart the last time it was on a trip. I had just put the bike on the lift and checked the spokes before leaving. Mine started loosening quickly less than 200 miles down the road.

Yeah, I do check my spokes regularly. The three spokes that were broke at the hub were right in line with each other so I am thinking that something got in there and caused them to brake, if that's possible. Another reason to go with non-wired spokes is that I can go tubeless. I've never had a flat, but it will be nice to be able to plug the tire if that were to happen. I think I may get this wheel. Nine Spoke Cast Wheel part number 43405-00. I know it's not the best looking out there, but I can't see getting a fancy looking wheel with the stock tire size since most of it won't be seen anyway. Especially on the rear!
