I have had the 2.5" Rush baffles on my '05 Ultra for a couple years.

They turn heads for sure.

THEY ARE NASTY!!! Just like a Harley should sound. My OL HATES them. Rattles all the windows in my 100 years old house.

A REAL problem though on long trips - "hearing loss" - even with ear plugs - just too freaking loud!!!!

Good for the CITY -not for the long hauls.

Even with the 2.5" baffles, Inever had a problem with the radio/MP3 on the highway because I've got HOGTUNES!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure if the 2.5" baffles or the HOGTUNES are causing my hearing loss - about equal dB's

Thanks for the input fellas, guess I will stick with the 2". Wife would not be happy on long hauls. I also dont like the idea of less back pressure, which I didnt think about. The 2 is probably the best of both worlds.

The 2.5's are definitely much louder. We have a guy who rides with us on a SE Ultra with Thunderheader true duals & Rush 2.5's and he's always sent to the back of the pack. Not that we don't like him, but no one besides him can find any joy in listening to those things hammer the eardrumsfor hours on end.

That much noise sounds OK for 30 seconds or so, but after that it gets on the nerves pretty quick...[8D]

I have a 08 FLHX with Vance and hines true dual header pipes with 2.25 Rush mufflers. Sounds great, the wife even likes em. They really slap when your on the throttle but when you level off a real nice tone.

Have 2" which is plentiful loud with the assist of FuelMoto's 2-1-2 headpipe. Very pleased with the outcome and will stick to the 2" forever.

Another side-effect to larger baffles is a loss of low-end performance due to reduced back-pressure. I think Fuel Moto recommends staying at 2¼" or smaller for this reason, and if you are still contemplating a move to 2½" I would contact them first for advise.
