Purchased the bike a month ago, was so excited to get it I guess I didnt give it a real good look over. Dam Chrome can be deceiving when its all over! Any ways I noticed the over spray on the leather bags, rear fender, and some of the rear chrome. The chrome I'm not worried about because some 0000 steel wool will take it off and not harm the chrome but what suggestions on the paint and leather with out totally dismantling the rear and buffing the side of the rear fender. Bags i have no clue. What would you do if it was yours?
Why would it have overspray?? The bike is painted in parts completely separate from each other and then assembled. The only way there would be overspray is if the bike was repainted and the tins were not removed from the bike.
Yes sorry it was used. An 03 with 3700 miles. When I went to look at it the guy pulled it out of storage and It wasn't obviously totally clean but for the price I paid for it i'm not worried about it just wondering how to get it off.

You could try Meguires Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner. Its the "Step 1" of the 3 step system. There is Step 1 Paint Cleaner, Step 2 Polish, and Step3 Carnauba <sp> Wax. I have had some luck getting some seriously caked on stuff off before with the Paint Cleaner and there is a chance that the overspray will "lift" off. Its going to require some serous elbow grease and may or may not work. If it doesnt, youre only out 6 or 7 bucks.
Let me ask around and see if any of my buds have any suggestions.

I think he needs help removing paint from leather bags. If it was me I would try mineral spirits or paint thinner on the bags. I would try a spot on the bottom of the bag, let it dry for a hour, and see how it effected the bag. If it turns the bag a little white try some leather oil, or some protectant.
If the thinner didn't effect the leather in any way or protectant brought back the color, go to town on the overspray, should come right off. Shine up the bags with some ggod leather treatment and good as new..
If it looks like crap at least it is the bottom of the back and don't try it again!

The best way to get overspray off is with detailers clay. if you don't know what it is, do a google search and you will find out all there is to know about it.
I'm with sifularson on this, detailers clay on the paint. For the bags I would start by using a hand cleaner that removes paint from your hands, you don't know if it was latex or automotive overspray, you can always step up to something different.
A friend of mine had his bike parked in his work garage, and someone did some painting in the other end of the garage and the white overspray got all over his black road king............and this is a very large garage. He had another buddy of mine clean it for him...........it took almost a gallon of gas and using rags going over the whole bike to get all the overspray off. He then cleaned the whole bike very well, waxed and polished the whole thing........and now it looks as good as new.
