Default tour pak mounting problem

I have an 01 RK. I recently bought a chopped tour pak from a buddy. On my RK I have a detachable back rest. The tour pak it looks like needs another docking point installed farther back than where the backrest snaps in. I dont really want to add another docking point. Does harley make a bracket that I can bolt to the chopped tour pak and still use my existing docking points and still enable me to carry a passenger?

Thanks in advance.

On my '99 Road King I had to install two sets of docking points. A rear set for the rack and a forward set for the backrest. I believe you must install the rear set for the detachable tour pak rack if you want to carry a passenger.

There is no way around it, you DO need to buy the tourpak (rear) docking points. The link you posted is the rack needed to make a fixed tourpak a detatchable tourpak and with that you need to add the rear docking points.

Regardless of the quick detatch rack you use, it will require the front and rear docking kit (as previously mentioned). I actually use a permanent tour pack rack that has 5 bolts holding the chopped pack on. I leave this rack in place removing the 5 bolts when I want to use just the tall QD sissy bar (very rarely). I think you'll find once you get use to a tour pack, you won't want to be without it very often.
