Front fender lowering
Anyone lower the stock front fender on an EGC or SG? Is there any problem removing the brake caliper after this is done, or does the fender need to removed to service the brakes? I had the Street Stalker on, but kinda felt it took away from the Bagger look, but the stocker just sits up too high and shows off more of tire than I want to see. Thanks
I mocked mine up and then did the mod. Calipers clear on mine. Barely, but they clear without taking anything off. I wanted mine VERY close.

I've used both the weld in Native Custom Baggers brackets, and the HD Fatboy to touring fender adapter to lower fenders.
The HD bracket works just fine, but doesn't get as clean a look as the weld in bracket, but you don't have to repaint with the HD adapter if you're careful. Either way, the calipers come off without removing the fender. As UK says above, just mock it up and make sure you leave just enough room.
Here's a pic of a SG fender lowered with the HD adapter.

All of these look awesome! Great work guys! Since I already have the Harley brackets, it looks like doing a little work to my fender would be the most cost effective. ($0.00) Biggzed, what did you use to cut the stock bracket off? Also, I don't want to go too low. When I had my Street Stalker on I wanted it lower, so I re-drilled the mounting holes and got it nice and close to the tire. I got on the freeway and when I hit about 70mph, rubber smell. By the time I got pulled over to see what was going on it was too late. The heat from the tire on the fender melted a dent in the top of the fender[&o]. Are you also leveling when you do this? as the stock Harley fenders tend to point to the sky. Thanks for all your help, guys. Can't wait to get started on this one!
