Default oils intervals

noticed last night while looking through the '07 manual that intervals for changing primary (10k) and tranny (20k) are longer than used to be (5k). what's up with that?

I am planning on changing my oil at 5000 and leave the other two holes alone b/c of what the manual says.

Synthetic oils for all three holes have something to do with I guess.

I service them by the book I do run over once in awhile by a few hunderd miles
My 96 Fatboy has 45,000 on it no problems
My07 RG has 12,000 on it
I do run Quialty oil and lube it maybe over kill but cheap insurance
M1 Vtwin in both engines
In the six speedI run Spectro Platium for 6 speeds
In 5 speed I run REDLINE shock proof heavy
Primary F+ in both
And use HD filters.

The HD manual states 5000 mile oil change itervels. I go the entire riding season between engine oil changes, up to 10.000 miles. I run Amsoil, and they state you can double your oil change intervals. I have 80.000 miles on a 1999 Road King, and have run Amsoil in it since it was new, with no problems.whatsoever. Ialso have a 2008 Classic, and just did the 1000 mile oil change, and guess what I put in? Yep, Amsoil, and I won't change it again till fall. As a matter of fact, my entire famly rides , so thereare a dozen Harleys here that all run Amsoil. Needless to say, we all belive in Amsoil oils

I do my primary and transmission once a year, or about 10000-12000 mile interval.
I do my motor every 5000 miles, or about twice a year.

Mobil 1 in all 3 holes.
