I've got the two piece ones -07A which are the revamped -07 Touring Slip-ons which I had and were as quiet as stock IMO (don't have the prefix numbers here at work). These new ones -07A are great ....any louder and they'd be too loud for me.

you did not post which bike you have. If it is a 07 then I also like the 64895-07A's. Good sound; you can hear the pipes and the radio good. Like Road Glider said any louder, I would not like them. If you have a 06 down the older style might be what you want. I had the old style on my 07 Ultra sounded awesome but loud, changed to the 07A's and really like them. Good power, good mpg.

I've got the S/E IIs on my 08 Street Glide. They may be a little louder than stock, but not a lot. Definitely quieter than most aftermarkets. Personally, I like the quieter muffs.

I believe that part number for the 2-piece muffs with needed end caps is 64985-07A.

One piece slash down muffs are 80491-07.

My question is are these two muffs the same internally with just different housings?

I have the SE's on my bike (The new one's that came out this year)....They sound good...DEFINATELY not loud (I had V&H before)...But a nice rumble and different than stock.....After having V&H on mmy old bike for three years I just didn't want the noise anymore.....These sound good and I can hear the tunes great......But, If you really want that HD "Crack" when you twist the grip...These aren't for you....

Do you have the one or two-piece slip-ons? Hard to tell from the pic. Thanks.

I had them on my 07 SG.I would say they are a little louder than stock. They do not compare to other mufflers as far as loudness. They are very quit. You could spend the $279 that they cost and have better options.

I think its all a matter of perspective and the desire of each individual rider. If you want loud, then obviously they're not a good choice. If you want a nice rumble, close to stock yet a bit louder, the SE's may be just the ticket. To each their own, I guess.
