also look into the "din" or barrell type plug in. Many of the heated clothing and accessory companys use this compact smaller power source plug. Which by the way can be purchased at BMW bike shops for some really painful money or you can pick up the kit from a John Deer tractor shop for about $12.50 the last time I bought one.
No matter what you choose you may end up with about three adaptors for all ther combinations that are out there
I put a spare one on my EG Classic for the Roady 2 XM radio, and the wife has one on her Heritage for her cell phone. I made a stainless steal bracket for hers and mounted it under the coil cover. Got pics. of both instillations if anyone needs them.
I put the barrell type on with a bracket mounted to the horn stud, has a spring-loaded access door. Then I made an adaptor that has a cig. lighted female receptacle for cell charger.
I replaced the cig socket for a powerlet. Couldn't find a good quality plug that didn't hit the tank on a hard left with the GPS plugged in. This looks much cleaner IMO
