I just got done installing a Doherty Powerpacc with Powervents on my bike, and my question is this..............
What are you guys using for air cleaner covers?
I was hoping to go back to my HD billet airwing cover, but it won't fit with the Doherty filter. So, for now I just put the skull insert on the end of it........but it doesn't fit right.
Any info or pictures on what covers work would be great.
HD's Smooth Round works for me on my Doherty PP. Sure seems like your Billet one should work if my smooth round one works just fine as they seem like they are close in circumference.
Yup, I thought it would fit also.............but not even close. The billet cover has a lot of material inside, and is really machined for the S/E style filter or Zipper's filter.
I'm going to keep an eye out for a cover that catches my eye..........and in the meantime I'll have to sell my Ness Big Sucker kit, Zippers filter, and the billet cover.

Good deal. Selling your present kit will certainly buy you a nice cover and help offset the cost of the Doherty. Watcha think about it? I'm impressed at the mere workmanship alone.....lol!!! The velocity stack is machined to fit precise and perfect.
Mine is set up for the S&S cover. I bought mine a couple years ago when I was running a S&S super E. I'm still running the S&S cover but with the CV 40 carb. I think it looks alot better then the Football.
Quality is top notch, very well engineered for sure. I can see why the price is what it is for a new one, it's a top-notch part that really is superior to the competition.
Now I just need to get that little breather filter kit that goes under/behind the backing plate for the powervents to breath thru.......and figure out a cover
Got a 95 FLHR and bought the Doherty PP kit back in 2001, i just used a plain HD aircleaner cover and trimmed it back about an inch in all the way around and finished it off with black door trim. worked out nice. the Dohertys really let the engine breathe too!
I ordered a Crossbones 8" black cover that is not here yet.. I saw where a few guys had their football covers cut down and they looked good. But hecki.. I am running like this for a while..!! see below..
I like how the black endplate looks...........that's what I'm going to do with mine. Take it off, paint it flat black, then put it back on with the skull insert on the end. That will look much better then it does now with the unfinished metal endcap on there with the skull insert.
