Bike tipped to side and now the paint is chipped on the lower fairing. You can't see it, it is on the bottom, but I know it is there! Oh and I have only had the the Ultra for 20 days. Do I take it off and repaint, or touch it up myself?
take it back to the dealer they should work with you. They fixed my bros mishap for $40.00. He dropped his metal sunglasses on his tank. It looks brand new again.
I did the same with mine too. Had the dealer repaint it and had the vents on the fairing painted also. Cost around $120 for everything looks new again.
If you decide to repair this chip, take it to the dealer and have them send it to their paint guy - should not cost you much as others have said. If you elect not to repaint, and, you cannot see it, I would suggest doing nothing since this is a fiberglass piece - no concern over corrosion; touch-up paint will not compliment a new UC.
i had a chip that was on the top of my tank when I picked it up at the dealer. they didn't notice it till they detailed the bike that day I was flying in to get it. They touched it up with a little tounch up paint and sent me on my long ride back home . They made a warrenty claim and said I could get it fixed when I got back home. Well that chip has benn there for a year now and I don't really ever notice it now. I contacted Harley this spring and stated that I never got a call from the dealer to arrange the repair and that I was going to repaint it this coming winter. So to make up for the repair and not calling me last year they offered me a Harley Credit and a good discount and Harley Products .
HOW COOL IS THAT HEY.
Point is little touch paint and you wont reallt pay any attention to it in a month.
hell it is summer time just take them off you should anyway have them fixed just to be right you might or might not put them back on but they will be right. i like the look with no lowers on
Riding my Scoot to work here on the Southern California freeways and I've noticed my new front fender has a few rock chips in it already! Damn, that pisses me off.
