I sold my Goldwing this spring on craigslist. I had far more calls with this listing than two Honda forums, the local paper and my credit union's swap-n-shop combined. BTW, craigslist is free.

The biggest reason I want to trade it in rather than sell it is for sales tax purposes. In Nebraska, I have to pay 7% sales tax on a new vehicle. However, if you trade a vehicle for another vehicle, you only pay sales tax on the difference.
Sounds to me they just dont want your RG. Try calling Dillions in Omaha and see if they might cut you a better deal. They treated me quite well when I traded in my 03 FXD. Of course I turned down their first offer and told them what I wanted out of the bike and they agreed.
Keep it! It's only a year old. The Bike market is as slow as everything else right now. Hold on to it till it picks up and then sell. But that could be a while with the economy....
I think most target agrossre-sell atroughly$3500 in the trade. Your mileage might vary....Seems to be the same with cars. When I traded my 2005 Fat boy 20K miles. I got 12,500 trade they stickeredmy bike at $15,800 on the floor. I assume they got something close to that. It lasted roughly a Month on the floor and is nowgone to the next owner.
Hang on to it for a bit. Dealer allocation has been reduced due to production cuts. I got a feeling that if the price of fuel continues to increase there is going to be a corresponding increase in demand for high fuel mileage vehicles such as motorcycles.
But that's just my opinion and I have been wrong before. Just ask my wife.

i would keep it, 2007 RG thats an awsome bike my friend but to each his own. Well try to sell it outright becouse you will probaly make more for it then you would be saving on taxes so actually you would come out ahead
Check Kelley Blue Book and you will see that the figure is a little low that they gave but not by much.
They should have gave you around 12 grand or so depending on miles, condition, and add-ons.
The market is real soft on bike sales right now, wasn't many years ago when you could ride a bike for 2 years and trade it in for what you paid for it minus add-ons (you always lose on them).
When I traded my 07 FLTR in for an 08 FLTR I lucked out in that they had a buyer lined up and I was going to build the engine and was going to put about 5 k in it. Other than that I would have lost my ***!
My dealership kinda takes care of me as they know about every 2 years I buy a new bike and get all my major service done there and have been know to tip a few beers with the owner, but that being said they are in business to make $ and if they didn't they wouldn't be there long!
