Default Mileage

Had my RK about a month and did a mileage check today. Have stage one on the bike with the download and am getting about 39 MPG on combined city and highway driving. Is this mileage in the ball park or should it be better??

Thanks

I've seen better, and worse. Seems to vary from bike to bike anymore. Ride it & be happy, it's better than the 12 my truck gets.

I'd say it's in the ballpark, I'm a slow throttle guy, on a 107 build and I'm in the mid 40's.

I think it has to do with the quality of gas we are getting these days. I have gotten any where from 40 to 50 mpg. Ride the same way and the time I got 50 was with 2 up, go figure. But latley it's been doing 40-42 mpg.

I seems about right to me. You will find that as the weather warms up, your mileage will improve. Cold air makes for better power, but tends to eat more gas.
As near as I can figure, my mileage has been about 37 at it's worst, and 48 at best. Bikes vary more so than cars I think.

+1. It has maybe gotten a little better after more miles have been put on the bike.

Yup, that's about right. I have an 07 rk custom that getsthe same. I wasnt happy with that at first, but realized that even if the mileage was worse, it's still better than ridin in a cage!!!!

It depends on your riding habits, if you're heavy on the throttle then your going to get in the mid to upper 30's, but it you take it easy you can get up into possibly the mid 40's. When riding one up and no gear taking it easy on the throttle I've got as high as 45 to 47 mpg, however last weekend the wife andI took a trip to Texas, loaded with all our gear and traveling 65 to 70mpgI was gettingbetween 37and 39 mpg. Let her get broke in good and be mindful of your driving habits and you'll be surprised howyour fuel mileage will vary and evenimprove. Good luck..."D"

"08 RK, five weeks now, 1500 miles, she has gone up from around 32 to about 36 or so. Same riding habits, but I'm not shy about dumping fuel into her and I love the 75-80 mph cruise speed. Nobody gets what the MOCO claims on their brochures unless you go slow through the gears, get into 6th at 60, set the cruise and ride on a flat or downhill slope with a slight tail wind.
