Default Need some info........

Looking at buying a touring bike. It's a toss up as to which one to get. With the used market the way it is right now I probably won't buy new but it is not out of the question. If I buy usedI wouldn't be against buying a later EVO or later twin cam. So here are the questions, looking for comfort, reliability, MPG. like the looks of the Road King but would probably enjoy a bat wing faring. Road glide is ugly but probably awesome for touring. So with that I'm looking for some input......

Have you taken any out for a spin first?
Many people make mistakes and buy the wrong one for their size and riding style.
Just a thought.

I've only taken a road glide out that my friend has. I'm going to rent or borrow both the king and electra glide before I pull the trigger just looking for any info from those that already have them.

EG IMO, you can buy detachable kits and strip it down to look like a SG and go right back to a full touring bike.. The best of both
worlds.

I like the SG a lot but really like my hard leather bags. I'd have the "perfect" bike for me with a fairing on mine but I ain't gonna spend the $$$. I'm satisfied.
