Default Lifter install question Help please

Installing a set of AMS lifters in 2000 Ultra and have 2 questions I need answered. Have 40k miles and am running 510 gear drives with SE pushrods. My question is does it matter which direction the oil hole on the lifter faces? 3 were out and 1 in when removed. Also should I presoak these or lube up and allow to pump up on there own? Have been told that setting preload dry will be the most accurate. Planning on running these at .080 or 2 turns of the SE pushrods. Any help greatly apprciated. Thanks, Mark

It doesn't make any difference which way the holes are. I use a oil can to fill them with oil through the small hole on the side then soak them for a day. I then pump more oil in them through the little hole before installing them. Can't help you with the pushrods because I use solids.

The oil hole's don't matter. I used a small oil hand pump to pump em. up before installing em. The S/E adj. p. rods says 2 1/2 turms out from 0 lash. Some like to run em. a little tighter ,, closer to 3 turns. Mine are at 2 1/2..w/ the 510g s/s and 95".. Steve

Doesn't matter. Definitely pump the lifters before installing. A regular oil can may be the best method.
