I am all smiles right now! I just got done installing a tmax with autotune and I guess I did everything right because it runs great no decel pop, no ping and it seems to idle better. My question is how the hell do you now its working? I mean if its running great it must be doin its job. I have a 07 flhx with 103 big bore, screaming eagle heavy breather, 255 cams, and bub7 true duell, does anyone have this setup and if so what map did you load as base map.
Hook the unit up to your bike, if it connects to the Thundermax and auto tune is checked then it's working. It runs and rides better doesn't it, mine sure did, make some minor adjustments like change the idle after it warms up, if it changes the idle rpm to what you set it to it's working.
Mine made a big difference in torque off the line and a smoother ride all the way around, it's a great unit and I enjoy playing with it to see what works and what doesn't.
I have an 06 Ultra (88) wish I had 103 and all camed up like your to play with, but it did make a great difference in my bike. Now you get to have fun with it and the 103, good luck and be safe.
What map did you use? I tried 398 & 414 and both caused detonation on my bike, with the same Stage II kit you have.
Talked with Randy & Paul and both stated they do not recommend the TMAT with the 255 cams....In the test bike they saw detonation as well. Would have been nice to know this before buying the damn thing, even talked to Paul twice about the components being used. His response was to sell me anew cam.
No wonder there isn't a base map for the Stage II kit!!!!! Not recommended!!!!
Not sure how much of a mechanic you are but I would check it out or have it checked out
You need to vary yer riding style and stop about ever 60 miles of so and turn the bike off and then start it up again and ride it. It takes at least 500 miles for it to tune itself.
If you drive at only one speed, it will only adjust to that speed.
And like the other person stated, make sure the Closed Loop box is checked.
Hope you know when Zippers comes out with the new TM for the 08 bikes I've heard the prices for TM are going up about 100.00.
The TM with A/T has to be the best tuner I've ever run. It's the best thing you can do to a stock bike.
