Default ABS Light

This afternoon the ABS light came on and stayed on. The manual says that this indicates that the ABS isn't working, but the standard brake system is OK. It also says that the Dealer needs to correct. Has anyone else run into this condition? It's on an 08 FLHTCU.

what you say is happening is what my dealer told me when I picked it up my bike if the abs fails it power up test. So you need to take it in and get it checked out. Till then it will be like a regular bike without abs.

I will Johan96. It will be a couple of weeks before I can take it in, but I'll let you know the outcome.

Just got back from the dealer. The insulation on thefront sensor wire had rubbed off causing a short. It was close to the plug end not the sensor end. Tech said it wasn't routedthe best possibleroute.Relaced under warranty of course!

Glad to read that it was a minor problem and that they corrected for you in a timely manner.

Same thing happened to my EGC at about 300 miles. It had come unplugged under the fairing.
