Default Rear Tire Width

I need my first new rear tire on my 2007 RK Classic. How wide is the stock tire and how wide can I go without modifications?

The stocker is a MU85B16 or 140mm. on the 07. I have seen that though its real close that a 150mm will work.

I put a 150 metzeler on mine and it was tight but fit no problem. The dealer advised me not to use a 150 dunlop, because they "grow" a little when they get hot and they might rub. Very happy with the choice.

I agree with what has already been posted. There are threads here on HDF where guys have squeezed 160's on their rides. So I imagine the bike model and year have something to do with it. On my bike the 150 was REAL tight. Enough so that I went back to a 140 when I needed a new tire.

Ive got a 160x18 metz on my 07. had to notch bolt holes on belt guard to slide it over. So far 2 tires and no rubs.

If ya want a fat tire on the back, ya might want to consider getting serious about it.

This one is about a 200mm rear tire conversion kit. Pretty big chunk of money.

I'm running a 160 metz on a 4.25x18 wheel, and so is my buddy. Mine is an '06 road glide, his is an '06 street glide. No problems.
