well to each their own. We all like something different. Honestly its one of my favorite colors and the nicest wheels these eyes have ever seen. Besides, i really like having something no one else does.
in the search for chrome lower forks I have seen on ebay copper color that matches your color and the color of the anniversary bikes. Looks ok but that might be to much. But again to each their own
Yeah i think i am going to accent the bike with a few tasteful copper pieces. Not sure which, but i will have to take a look at those. Thanks for the tip
Bike looks great...I love the color and the different look!
What kit/s did you use to lower the bike? How is the handling since you put the 21 on?
John
I used the progressive suspension for the front and a JP cycles kit for the rear (i cant remember which one, but it lowered the rear 1.5 inches). Both were fairly easy to install once the wheels were off the bike and the forks were removed.
The handling is good but different. The suspension has a tad more road feel, which is fine by me -- i felt the stock was too mushy. Now i will tell you that this is still REALLY comfy and everything you'd expect in a bagger, but it seems more responsive. I have not been 2-up yet though. I will do that wednesday.
The larger wheels definitely turn weirder -- they tend to want to flop the bike -- meaning that when you get into a turn (especially a slow sharp turn) the bike feels like it WANTS to turn. Took a couple of hours to get used to but now i am very comfy on the bike. I actually prefer the ride now. I put about 150 miles on the bike since the swap and i could not be happier. I HIGHLY recommend it.
Very cool, thanks for the information. I have a 21 X 18 set on order. I want to lower at the the front, since the 21 raises is up a bit. Im not decided on the rear yet.
Im also not sure on how to lower; whether to use springs like you or a dampner that Ness sells.
I have an ultra and I really liek the way your bike looks and sits!
Thanks -- i recommend the rear as well. The 18" overall is larger than the stock 16". For me, although i am 6'1", god "blessed" me with 29" inseam (yes, i am SUPER TORSO). So i really needed to lower the rear.
yeah I may do the rear also. My wife will kill me if the ride quality suffers too much, but form over function is always my motto. And it sounds like the ride quality wont suffer too much.
Thanks for the information and again, great looking scooter!
