I tell ya, guys, it's toughon these highways. I rode with a group of CMA riders on Saturday. I got an email this morning that one of the rider'sthat was with us found out that his riding friend of 15 years washit while on a trip in PA on Monday and lost a leg. And another in thegroup learned that his uncle was killed on Monday while riding. Cager ran a red light. BE CAREFUL.
Riding is not without it's risks. We all know that and still make the choice.
Nothing wrong with a little reminder now and then.
I'm guessing more than a few of us out herehave been behind the wheel while over the limit. Not that it is okay, it absolutely isn't, but it is a wide spread problem.
While your at it throw in the 81 year old dude that refuses to stop driving, even though his eyesight, depth peceptionand reflexes suck..like my old man.. he passed the state exam, but I don't know how. I've done everything I can to get him to put the keys down.

This is right on too! Here in Iowa I look for cars that are in front of me, I can't see anyone above the headrest on the drivers seat, they are going 25 in a 35-45 mph zone and going from one side of the road to the other. 95% chance they are 70+ with their hands at 10 and 2 on the wheel and harldly see over the dash......... I approach them slowly and pass them fast, before they cut into my lane or get scared when I am beside them. No lie.

We are going through the same thing with my 81 year old Mom. My Dad always drove everywhere, but he died 2 years ago & now my Mom drives everywhere. She was a crappy driver 40 years ago & she certainly hasn't improved as she got older....
If one of the kids are around, she will gladly let any of us drive for her but she lives alone & there is not always somebody there.
