Default RE: iPod

Actually it is not an iPod. It is a Quest 2 GPS. In lieu of the Harley GPS (which is really a Quest 1) I saved money by getting the Quest 2 off of ebay. I ordered the mount for the Harley GPS from my local dealer assuming that all of the mount hardware would be supplied, however the cradle that the GPS sits in had to be ordered separately from the dealer.

Thank you for the info. I never really thought to look for an IPOD mount at gpscity. You having thinking of looking for a mount to use both my GPS and my IPOD now.

Any problems with bumps, some mounts tend to let things fly out.

You can get a FM trancevier for the IPOD so all you do is tune your FM radio to is. There are a lot of them out there just use Google to find them. I don't have any links for them here at work.

If you don't have an installed stereo, you probably don't have speakers either. Most likely there is nothing behind the speaker grilles.

You can get an aftermarket setup, like Two Wheel Tunes. But for that kind of money, I'd just have a stereo installed in the dash. [sm=signs007.gif]

I have the FM transceiver that plugs into the cigarette lighter on my truck. I then tune the radio to the same setting as the transceiver and it works very well.

I wouldn't be able to use this set up on the bike, however, as the plug for the cigarette lighter is long enough to hit the tank on a hard left turn. Too bad, it works very well and charges the iPod while it's running.

HD renegade, Sorry for the question but do you know how to tell what generation your IPOD is ? It looks like may not work in that mount. I have the one with the connector on the bottom, the long narrow one. Thanks for any help
