Does the adjustable backrest go further back than the non adjustable one? I just installed a non adjustable back rest and I hate it! It feels like its pushing me over the tank. I have the bracket as far back as it will go and the backrest tilted as far back as it will go and I still need to go back about another inch or so. Will the adjustable backrest sit me back further?
When I have my adjustable backrest in its most forward position I feel like I'm sitting on the tank. In its most back postion it is kind of a stretch for me to reach the bars, so there is a good amount of movement available. \\;

 \\;Sounds like that might work. How tall are you?
The adj one \\;seems far enough back for me and I'm a big tall guy. I like the ability to adjust it on the fly and have used that feature many times..
Well, I was initially going to get the adjustable one but the guy at the parts counter said it doesn't really go back that far it mainly goes forward. I don't need forward, I need backwards. I'll take this one back and try the adjustable one.
I have the adjustable on the King &\\; the ultra, I guess moving it forward is for the short guys, but I keep it all the way back so I can streach out. The wife likes if I give her an inch on the king but the Ultra has plenty of room....
I am 6 foot tall and ride the SG and had the none adjustable back rest and like yourself I hated it. I chanded to the HD adjustable back rest and It has made all of the difference in the world. I love it. The pad is wider and thicker and it will adjust in infinite positions, both forward and back and up and down. Get it you will be happy.
I'm another happy with the adjustable on my RKC. \\; I'm 5'11" and it's not all the way back.

BTW, I was watching ebay for one and they were going for $230+. \\; Got one from Zanotti's for the same price.
