Hello all, I have an 07 ultra. \\;\\\\\\; I took the trunk off and i am wanting to mount a set of speakers in my lowers. \\;\\\\\\; I have figured out some brackets and such for mounting and I plan to tap into my rear speaker wires that I unplugged from the tour pak. \\;\\\\\\; The problem is, I am having a difficult time getting the wires from inside the lower to outside the lower. \\;\\\\\\; I was hoping to run it along my highway bar and through my frame. \\;\\\\\\; Any ideas? \\;\\\\\\; By the way, I am trying to do so without taking the lowers off the bike. \\;\\\\\\; If I have to I will.
 \\;\\\\\\;Any help in any way always appreciated.
Hog Tunes fairing lowers kit is $145 from American Classic Motors on Ebay. \\; Their installation instructions call for drilling the fairing lower for the speaker wires.
 \\;
If you are making your own, you could remove the fairing cap to expose the engine guard and drill itthe rest of the fairing lower should stay in place with the lower clamp holding it, though I haven't tried it.
 \\;
Good luck with your project.

P.S. Hawg-Wired also offers a speaker set-up for fairing lowers and it is very neat as the speakers are flush mounted in the glove box.
Also, if you plan to keep the lowers on all the time, you can drill a hole through the lowers where the bolt on to the highway bar. Go into the highway bar with the drill bit (make sure to clean up th hole with a file). Then you can drill an exit hole near the top mounting bracket of the highway bar. Then run the wires through the bar. It will look really clean. Then right up the neck, to the stereo. It would look great. In addition to the hog tunes, that dawg mentioned. Fabkevin also offers a kit. Only with his, you use 2 6x9 speakers. For my money, I would go that way. You should get more sound, and better sound, with the right speakers. Although, I do like how the hog tunes has an amp (which I would get with the fab kevin set up) and how their speakers face up toward the rider...IMO..
Thanks guys, \\; I do like the way hogtunes is set up although $$$ is tight. \\; Trying to do this withought spending. \\; Anyway thanks for the ideas and good info Papatravis.  \\; Thanks.
Well I finally got it done. \\;\\\\\\; It does not look as good as the hogtunes setup but I spent ZERO dollars. \\;\\\\\\; The best kind of project IMO. \\;\\\\\\; There are two things I am going to change though, on the bottom of the glove box, it looks as if there is nothing there, it is actually lexan, clear. And I am going to install some chrome screws as well. \\;\\\\\\; So I guess it will cost me a couple of dollars.
Sounds great. \\;\\\\\\; All I need now is an amp and I will be set.
Thanks for everyones input. \\;\\\\\\; Here are a couple of pics.
