Default Rain Gear Sizing Question

I am going to buy some HD rain gear from Chicago Harley (20% off) and have a question on the sizing.&nbsp\\; I wear a Large in everything (jacket, tee-shirts, ect.), but am not sure if the rain gear is sized a little larger to fit over a leather jacket if needed.&nbsp\\; Should I order a XL or L?&nbsp\\; Probably wouldn't be wearing the leather jacket underneath the rain gear ever- so should I just order a Large?
&nbsp\\;
Thanks for your feedback before I purchase!&nbsp\\;

if you find yourself riding in chi. in sept in the evening and its raining you will wan the leathers! size to fit over gear. imo i would look at tourmaster raingear instead of the overpriced hd gear. stay away from gear with zippers down the front of the bibs or suffer a wet crotch!

Buy it based on your size.&nbsp\\; It is my understanding and expereince that they are made to fit.&nbsp\\; Too big ( a size up and you'll be flappin in the breeze.)&nbsp\\; I personally think they are well made and love the ability to just stuff them in the pack.&nbsp\\; Easy on too...&nbsp\\; I probably did pay more to have the bar and shield on it... but I like it!

I wear large clothing. Bought the large HD rain suit. In my case a heavy leather jacket will just fit with room to move around in. I would suggest trying on your purchase if at all possible.

get it big enough to fit over your leather jacket.&nbsp\\; rain jacket is great for cold or dark too, not just for rain.&nbsp\\; get one with a big reflective HD logo on the back. ya want those cages to see you if you're broken down on the side of the road.

I wear a XXL leather coat, my rain gear is a L and it fits over my coat perfectly.&nbsp\\; Try to get the gear as small as possible so when you ride without your jacket it's not flapping around in the wind.&nbsp\\; Fit it snug but comfortable over your leather.&nbsp\\; Just my $.02

Get it the same size as your harley leather. It is made to fit over your jacket with room to move.
&nbsp\\;
I made that mistake once. I bought 2X because I thought it needed to be bigger to fit over, flapped in the breeze and I dreaded riding in the rain. Sold it on eBay. Bought XL HD Rain Gear now and it fits great. I don't think it is overpriced, and it is made well.
&nbsp\\;
You will want to wear your leather in the rain with your rain gear. Many of us have done the 53 degree and rain thing.&nbsp\\;Cold.....

I have had several brands of rain gear over the years and most recently purchased a set of Technica Rain gear @ $120+. The HD rain gear is better than all of them. Better fit, better features for ventilation and getting it on in a hurry.(shouldv'e put it on before the rain started, of course!), and better visibility with that big reflective logo on the back. I remember follwing our ride leader&nbsp\\;wearing his through the Blue Ridge mountains in the rain at night. Made a tough situation very bearable.

Go with HD on this one. But first go to a HD shop and try one on w/ your riding jacket to make sure you will order the right size. Also Chicago HD as a rep for back ordering their product and delaying your shipment.
