Nope. They are aluminum and air cooled. Always will make a noise.

And welcome from Ontario.&nbsp\\;

I tried Some Lucas oil additive,1qt. to 3 qts of Amsoil 20-50.It did not make much difference.
Some engines just have more slop in them.

I agree, I've switched to Lucas and their additive and it has not helped at all. I believe it's the nature of the beast and also has to do with the type of cams your running. I'm running the Zippers 575 and at around 2000-2200 rpm they get pretty noisey. After that they quiet down a bit.

My engine is stock.The sound is awful without ear plugs.
A couple weeks ago I opened her up to 115 MPH.That was&nbsp\\;WOT.It didnt blow up!
If it wasnt for the ext. warranty I have,I probly would take the valve covers off to check the rocker assy for clearance.

I have one bike with stock pipes, and one with LOUD pipes.
I don't hear any valvetrain noise on the loud pipe bike.&nbsp\\; also, if you run without a windshield, you will notice that the engine make a lot less racket, the windsheid seems to reflect back all the engine niose.

In agreement but I would caution an additive especially with a wet clutch. The additive may not be compatable with the clutch discs. Ask me how I know.

What does an additive in your engine oil have to do with your clutch discs?

I have the same issue at 2200 to 2400 but with stock cams.
