Just installed new plugs and wires on a FI Road King. Now I am having the engine light come on and while coming to a stop, the bike cuts off completely. Seems as it is running okay as long as I am moving, but as soon as I start to let up, the engine light comes on and the bike shuts down. Only thing that I have done was plugs and wires. I replace the old plugs, seemed to help, but still cutting off. Any suggestions.
What prompted you to change the wires and plugs? Was this happening before you changed them? If it was not, check the wires to make sure they are not being pinched by the tank and shorting to the frame. If this happened as a result of changing the wires, then you might have a bad wire or end on a wire.

What year is the bike, how many miles, and some prior history as to the plug and wire change? It almost sounds like the bike is not set at the correct idle rpm or an oil pressure sensor problem. Are you getting a code flash?
Road King is a 2004 with 10,000 miles on it. Decided to replace the wires with braided ones and the plugs needed replacing anyway. Have replaced plugs many times before without any problem. Only light that is coming on is the engine light directly before it starts losing power. Only other issue that I can think of is that while removing the tank, I did spill some gas on the engine, but again this has happened before also.
it is possible that either the new wires, or plugs are bad - you could put the old wires back on 1st & see if that corrects the prob (after getting a good look at the plugs) - if that doesn't help, try the old plugs.
I would put the old wires back on and see if it eliminates the problem. Only other thing that comes to mind is if you knocked a connector loose else where under the tank. Just speculation. Good luck.
