Default Battery

&nbsp\\;I think I need a new battery. Sometimes when I hit the brake the radio loses power&nbsp\\;and comes back on after I have stopped for a few seconds. I am gonna be taking a trip to Michigan for a week or so the week after next. Think I should just pick up a battery from the dealer or someplace else? Opinions?

Sounds more like a loose connection.

If it has enough amp's to start your bike - it ain't the battery making the radio loose power......possible short in the break line maybe.

&nbsp\\;I think you have a bad ground or loose connection in your radio, not a battery problem. If you get 12.5v across the battery and 13.5-14v with the engine running the battery's fine. Check the radio wiring.
&nbsp\\;When time to replace the batter, I'd stick with the OEM,got one in my Softail for 7 yrs and its still good to go.

Agree, loose connections - tighten the battery terminals and ground straps (near the battery).
