Default grip change problem

I went to change the grips on my 2008 street glide.&nbsp\\; It has the fly by wire throttle and the directions state that you may have to give it a " slight tug" when i gave it a slight tug i ended up with the whole f*&amp\\;^#en throttle assembly in my hand and unpluged from the internal wiring in the handle bar.&nbsp\\; Anyone else have this problem?? besides taking it to the stealer is there an easy way to fix this???

Ouch! No Easy way. You'll have to remove the fairing and find the connector for the FBW harness. Disconnect it and thread the other end through so you can reconnect the green connector. Maybe an hours work

Easiest way is to pop ignition and take off lower inner fairing and pull wire out of bottom of bar.

Check green clip for damage and if not damaged tape a wire to it and feed wire back up bar till comes out end.

black wire is like an antenna or something, should be a floppy rubber short piece.

Hello,

I've ordered Kuryakyn Iso 6228 for my 2008 King, and
I'd like to avoid this risk
Would cutting of the stock rubber to remove it help ?

Thanks for any tip,
