Differences between FLHT and FLHTC?
I like the way my Standard looks with the silver engine. The engine would look even better with some chrome on it...but it shines nicely the way it is and I don't polish it. Depending on how much Harley money I get for this Christmas I might just go out and pick up the Chrome Engine Kit (16326-07) for my bike...$600 at Chicago HD.
I bought a new FLHT in 06 put 18000 on it in 22 months before I sold it. I bought the gauge kit HD sell and a Sony radio CD with the Biketronics kit and Hog tunes speakers. Finally got the Road Glide I'd always wanted now and sold the FLHT but wish I hadn't. The Street Glide does come with some nice bits but in England it's a lot more expensive, yet it doesn't have passing lamps or rear crash bars. The FLHT is a good bike, nnot flash but it does what it says it does on the tin.
Ive owned both. And a Road King 05 that I sold to get back on a Dresser FLHTC. I lulled for months about both but I just couldnt get used to the silver motor and no chrome, although like I said I had two FLHT's an 97 and 05. Then looked at the other things, radio, xtra gauges, tour pak, saddlebag guards. I bit the bullet and went for the FLHTC and Im glad I did although I put on detachables for the tour pak so I could strip it down like the FLHT but its my option in the long run your better off like someone mentioned all the stuff radio etc under warranty!! Whatever you choose good luck and "Ride It Like You Stole It" just take care of it like you gave birth to it!! LOL Bill
