Default EG Standard vs. Street Glide

I know the difference between the 2 bikes so that is not the question. The question is, if I buy an EG Standard, what CAN'T I do to make it a Street Glide. In a comparison, the EG Standard has a 30/32 Lean angle (per SAEJ1168) where the SG has 28/31. What the heck is that? Other than that I can't see anything else.

The rims don't matter, color, doesn't matter, cruise doesn't matter, but can't I lower the bike, add a radio, and change the seat, cheaper than the 2,100 difference? What am I missing?

Biggest unchangeable factor is the black cylinders and cases on the SG vs the Brushed alum on the Standard.

To get it streetglide style, you will have to do various chrome/trim deletes, and get the 1" lower shocks for the rear, Change the turn signals to bullet from the pancakes - other items too, but you get the idea. It is all about what you prefer. My bike is a standard, and i think it looks fine with the silver cases. Frankly, I don't get all the hype over black cases. But again, that is a matter of taste.

On the upside, you can get a much better stereo with the money saved, you have passing lamps, which are great. And you can get a really great cool saddle and keep the touring saddle (next to the touring shocks) for when you want to have the touring bike back.

I am sure there is more, but you get the idea.

Oh, and the dash. Which I think does look better on the SG. But then again, you can buy a really cool custom flush mount dash instead if it bothers you much.

The biggest difference you will notice is the fact that you have no radio, and you will have the silver motor with brushed aluminum cases that in time will start to get very dull and look bad. Between the cost of adding a radio, shorter shocks and other little bits and pieces the extra $2,100.00 that you show would be well worth the investment to get the SG ..... IMO !!!

The SG has less lean angle because it lowered. I have little interest in bling, so if I was in the market, I'd getan Electra Glide Standard and add a radio. The overall cost would be less than a SG. Chicago HD and Zanotti'ssell the radio for 20% off. Forget the HD speakers. Go with Hog Tunes or J&M.

Depends on your taste, budget and personal technical skill level.A radio can cost you 400.00 for decent one that fitd the hole. The lowering shocks will be about $500.00. Labor? who knows. Maybe 300.00. With the other item and incidentals I doubt if you save much at all.

I put a Marine radio in my EG and I can say it was alot less in price and in my opinion just as good sounding than the $800 Harley wanted for one. Mine is a Clarion.

I heard with the right out of the box super kool looking SG you get a free Doo Rag and Wrap Around Sunglasses to complete the total biker look. MOCO does it all for you!

The lower shocks are $275 MSRP and about 30 minutes self install. I put them on my EGC. The biggest thing I notice is the polished engine instead of chrome.
