Differences between FLHT and FLHTC?
Motor powdercoat color/polish vs chrome parts
Front fender trim and a few other trim bits
Rear tail light/plate holder
Saddlebag guards
HK Radio
Air Temp gauge
Comfort handle bars
Seat/backrest
Tourpak
Seems like an FLHTwith an aftermarket radio and an HD tourpak and seat would be cheaper for not much other differences. Plus the Tourpak could be bought as removeable from the get-go instead of having to retrofit the removeable brackets on an FLHTC...is this correct?
Any other big differences?
What about between EG Standard and SG? Other than lower/different seat, trim differences, suspension height, lights, wind screen height...any other big differences?

I have an '05 EG Classic and have put on the detachable kit for the Tour-Pak, etc.
An after market radio kit will be far superior to the Harley - Harmon Kardon stock radio. Plus, you could purchase a head unit with whatever features you actually wanted / needed.
Honestly, I don't think there's anything you've forgotten, at least not that's coming to me at the moment.
As for the difference with the SG, buy a Badlander seat for the EG & a short windshield and you'll have a SG "looking" bike.
The SG's are lowered from the factory. Also, as you stated, the EG Classics & SG's come factory with chrome plated engine convers & the flat black engine.
However, the chrome covers can be purchased later if you so choose.
Just some more to consider!
Keep in mind also that an aftermarket stereo will not work with the handlbar controls, (you WILL regret that) with the exception of a few models from Sony and others, but those models are NOT cheap by a long shot.
IMHO, unless you LIKE and WANT the silver/polished motor, go with the Classic.
As far as the Street glide, its cosmetic. If those cosmetic things are worth it to you, then the bike is worth it to you. (it was to me, as I've done it twice) All I can say is, get the bike closest to what you want, because you will ALWAYS wind up paying more to add/change after the fact.
IMHO, the Standard needs to be about $1000 cheaper to make it a truly effective "entry level" model, UNLESS you plan on keeping it just the way it is and not adding anything significant to it. The minute you start adding to it, your gonna probably wind up costing yourself more than had you just bought the more equipped model in the first place. IF you just want to add the trunk, thats one thing, but as soon as you start talking about a trunk AND a stereo, I think your over the hump of cost effectiveness. If your not gonna add either, and are happy with the silver/polished motor, THEN the Standard is a BARGAIN.
I had thoughts of getting a denim black one, and scotch-briteing the engine covers to dull them further, maybe adding a black exhaust system, going for an "Exile Cycles" looking bagger. But in the end, I like shiny shiny stuff better for the long term.

Basically a bagers a bagger and you can put anything you want on any of them. Why pay HD for doing it?

If you are okay with the aluminum instead of chrome, the Standard will be a better value for you.
A Road Glide is basically a Street Glide with a different fairing and rear fender. You can add the facia/LED from the SG for about $140 in parts--many HDFers have done it and it looks great IMO. More costly to do with an EG because of the fender tip light on the rear fender--usually means buying a clean rear fender (RG, RK Custom, SG) and painting to match. Feature for feature (if you prefer chrome to aluminum) the RG is HD's best value among touring bikes IMO.
The SG has different wheels, silver/white faced gauges, rear fender/facia/LED, etc.
You can add, along with a compatible aftermarket headunit/radio, a Biketronics or Hawg-wired interface unit that allows handlebar controls of the headunit. I bought the Biketronics unit, as have many HDFers--it has Automatic Volumce Control (to adjust volume based on bike speed) which the Hawg-wired unit does not.
Good luck with your research.
