Is there a particular feature on the '09 bikes that you were specifically looking for comments on or just general feedback on the 09's?

Other then it runs hotter than I like, it has been a great 200 miles! I took it out for about 75 miles tonight, still all smiles. Only time will tell.

I just got my FLHR and I gotta get rid of the heat! I've been looking for some V&H Basic slip ons for it and nobody can tell me whether what fits the '08 fits the '09. Anybody heard different?

08 pipes don't fit the 09 , at least not without help from a rubber mallet! Even the Rinehaerts I bought didn't fit without putting a dent with the hammer in the wheel bolt location. Nick

i cant tell you what, but they (the moco) says there were over 450 changes made to the 09s..... they can't all be cosmetic?

Check at a few dealers in your area, my local dealer has an '09 SG stripped down on the floor so you can see all of the changes.

I'm sure the MOCO sent it for display because I can't see a dealer stripping down a new bike that he could be selling for big $$$$.

I agree with "hdvrodsg". Must be a MOCO display. I know the big dealer near here in Asheville, NC had 2 '09's on the floor, a few Sporties, a couple of left over CVO's and a WHOLE LOT of empty space. Basically sold out. Of course this is in the mountains of NC and many people come here from way out of town and spend their vacation riding where I live. Can't blame them but it makes it hard to get a deal on an HD. Everyone here seems to prefer the new models and I agree. My Son drives and '08 RKC and we have an 09 on order. Would love to actually see the changes though....

Cheers, Geeded

I'll chime in here...just picked up my 09 SG on Friday, 375 miles so far this weekend.

Great handling, comfortable ride. A buddy traded his 06 UC for an 09 UC (same time I bought my SG), and he says the difference is night and day.

For me, this is my first "big boy" bike - and my only regret is waiting so long....

First of all, there are no meaningful comparisons of the 09s to anything other than the 08s. All other comparisons are really between the 88-inch bikes and the 07s, between the 07s and 08s, and now between the 08s and 09s.

Harley is devolving to the Oriental mentality of so many new parts every year that the dealers are not going to be able to stock any great amount of relevant spare parts, thus waiting a day or two for delivery becoming a necessity in the short term, who can say about the long term... Personally, I don't like it. They've been working on this new frame for several years now. I wonder why the hell they didn't just wait for it and combine everything new since 07 all at once. Now there are plenty of 07, 08, and so far 09 parts which are all specific to just that one model year. That's just stupid.

The dealer where I trade had an 09 they were stripping for an in-house project to blacken all the chrome parts. The shop manager invited me back to have a look. I got to see some pretty intimate views.

I'm so glad I've got an 07! I don't care for the larger tank, the throttle-by-wire, the Brembo brakes, and on and on. And why the hell would they be touting the cure for 09 of the "shaking so much at idle?" Why would they want to "fix" that? Must be complaints from new converts from Ricers is all i can figure.
