I had this happen 3 times in the first 1000 miles. 08 SG.
All of a sudden with the bike running, the ABS lights comes on, the security key lights up solid red, the engine light comes on, and the tach quits working.
This last for about 3 to 4 starts and then it clears and it doesn't happen again for awhile.
I will be taking it to the dealer to check-out but I thought I would ask you guys first. My dealer is 150 miles away.
Any Ideas? I have checked the battery cable connection and they are tight. All the grounds seems o.k.
I am lost as to what it could be! HELP!!!
Thanks Alot!

In your shop manual, maybe in your owners manual and by search on this forum you can find the process whereby you can read the problem codes on the speedometer face. By using the manual or again by searching on this forum you can see what those trouble code readout numbers mean and maybe fis it yourself easily.
I did that and found out that my sparlplug lead was loose on the top of the plug and saved myself a trip and some $$$.
Good luck!
I have tried to use the search but I am not having any luck. Can anyone explain the procedure to get to the diagnostic codes?
I don't have a service manual yet, and I couldn't find anything in the owners manual.
I would like to figure this out soon as we have a trip planned in 4 days.
