Default Broken Bracket Brigade

Well, I'm an official member of the "Batwing Broken Bracket Brigade".
I have noticed some extra vibration in my fairing the last couple of days so, since it was pouring rain this morning, I decided to pull my outer and have a look.
Sure enough, the right side main brace is broken. The other 3 look OK.
Called my dealer (still in warranty) to see what he would just let me replace it and bring him the part. No, as I expected, he gave me an appointment for next Friday.
So, by the time my appointment rolls around, might have more of them broken. Oh Well, HD is buying so I guess it's their call.

the problem starts at the front motor mount so be sure to inspect it. also when the bracket is replaced try a small pieace of 90 degree hardware bracket drilled and mounted at the top were it breaks . this will strengthen the weak point

Thanks Steve. I checked the front mount and it's OK. I'm going to let them replace the brace and then reinforce them both when they get done.

I have an 08 SG and I am with the rest of you....Why doesn't MOCO do something about this poor design problem. Those darn stubborn engineers....can't live with them and can't live without them.

The MoCo must have a bunch of these they are trying to get rid of before the fix the problem. Ridiculous !!!

Good idea rocknrod, I see myself becoming very rich making "L" brackets.
