Thanks for the link, TCSTD! I was going nuts installing the security model in my 04 ultra (got a deal on ebay), thought I was cooked. Got the instructions, easy to follow, and all is perfect. New member, Very happy to be here!
I know this is an old thread, but I found it very helpful. The dealer sold me a security system, but the service guy told me that he "knew for a fact that" that there was no way I could install it without his computer. I simply told him that I'd try & bring it back to him if I couldn't do it. He said that he'd see me soon. In fact he will - as I show him how the system works & get him to give me the instructions for the detachable tour pak rack I bought. The rack had instructions for something else in it & didn't have the instructions for what I bought.
A big THANKS.
BTW, I read this thread prior to buying the system.
Now for the simple question. Does it actually work exactly as the instructions describe?
Yes. As long as you are attempting to do the procedure on a bike with a compatible system. It worked on my 06 Ultra. Doubt if it would work on my 03 Softail (carbed). Two different animals.
Digital Gaurd Dawg has a system set up for harleys that seem to be a good deal and will work with efi or carb bikes. It is on my ever growing wish list. Along with the remote for the garage door. I gotta get that first.
