Ok. I have analyzed this handle bar thing until I have just about lost my mind. And I appreciate all of the responses to the questions I have asked. But, as I look out the window and see the leaves turning I know that winter ain't far out, and boredom comes right with it. So, I say to myself, "why not make the bars you want?" "Hmmmm," I say back to....me. "Why not?"
So here is another question. Can anyone out there tell me how to get the knurles in the bar so they won't spin in the clamps? I have already asked myself, but I don't know.
I'd say knurl them on a lathe. Should be pretty straight forward?
But then again - when I ask myself questions I'm wrong 50% of the time.
Can't trust the source!
when I made mine I did it in the lathe before I welded them up.Mine are made like Z-bars so they are welded not bent.Mine are made from .125 walled stainless so they polished up like chrome.I'll ad some pics. Maybe this will help.
Buddha, Make a TRIAL SET< i'l use them and let you know HOW THEY FEEL, I admire you guys who TACKLE jobs like that, I have trouble opening my saddle bags cleanly. GOOD LUCK< Let us know how they turn out.
