Default Get Inner Fairing Painted

Thinking about getting my inner fairing painted this winter to either match the bike, or a gloss black, 2 questions; how difficult to get the inner fairing off, and a rough budget number to expect.

Thanks.

A tedious but very doable DIY project when using the HD Service Manual which has an excellent step-by-step description. I did mine a while back using the SM and it went fine. No special tools required (I no longer consider a Torx T27 socket/drive to be "special") and can be done by yourself, though I was happy to have a buddy's extra pair of hands when removing the inner and reinstalling the painted inner.

Budget--vivid black about $100; color-matched probably more depending on color/single stage or multi-stage color. PPG has many of the HD paints in their computer for mixing to match.

I had mine shot vivid black with very fine silver flake on my white '04 EG. For me, it's the best $$$ I've spent on cosmetic mods since I get to enjoy it every time I ride!

Good luck with your project.

Mine is painted vivid black. I love it, and like the man above me said, you're watching all the time you ride, so think about it long and hard before hand. I think he had a great idea with the contrast colors and the silver flake. I'd love to see a picture of it..

Took mine off and had it painted. I thought it was easy to get off, just time consuming. Cost was $250 with a color matched paint. You can also buy them already painted from the MoCo.

The flake is so fine you wouldn't notice it from 20', and maybe not even 10'--but it sparkles close-up. You won't be able to see the flake in this pic, but I've enjoyed it everytime I ride:
