Have an 06 RK - want to put on some Kerker slip ons and I understand I need a tuner to make this right after the install what's the tuner of choice around here...? Easiest to use, easy on the wallet...?
I used a Power Commander, A/C Ness Super Sucker with k&n filter, Super Trap slip-ons, and new 25' injectors, dyno'd results 78hp & 77.5 tor. Runs great. Real improved mid range.
2006 Ultra Classic
Yep, Power Commander (PCIII), dyno tuned. Costs a few $$$, well worth it to get the most out of your package, plus the performance you deserve.
Yup - I do deserve it, I sure do ...
Thanks for your help Gentleman - now it's time to go Ebay shopping for a tuner I believe it's number 807-511 unless someone here knows a good place to pick one up???
I would also recommend the PCIII. Myself, and quite a few others on this forum have bought the PCIII from Fuel Moto USA. They will pre-program it for you to your specs, so it is ready for installation as soon as you get it! I installed mine myself in about 30 mintues. Runs great right out of the packaging and they have the best prices I could find.
Here is their website:
If you have decided on the PC III then I'd use the below link. They double the warranty, and actually talk to you so they can pre-load a program in the PC so the bike will run until you can get a good Dyno tune done.
O.K. FYI - I thought about this and decided to go to Harley and get a one shot map chip installed cause more than likely the slip-ons and air filter will be my only mechanical changes.
Talked to the Service manager here's what he said - 2006's can not be simple chipped anymore Mother Harley has decided to opt out of the programming business. Therefore, there is no other choice but to buy a tuner and this Dude said their dealership has now got into the business of installing Power Commanders...
