As someone has said we need to post good news from time to time. Blew the clutch on my 2003 FLHTCi this summer 3000 km from home. Arrived at Cranbrook HD at 15:30. They rang HD in my presence. At 17:15 i was on the road again with a new clutch under warranty. Can$ 56 admin charge. Cannot grumble at all

On topic..but off topic.....
HD has the engine replacement program which costs about $2500 for the trade.
I'm not sure what the Rep ordered, but the rebuilt MOCO engines come with full warranty, 2 years. Whether the Rep ordered a new or rebuilt is irrelevant in the point I'll try to make.

The point I'm making, MOCO wouldn't have let this go to court. One engine is chump change to them. If it was new or rebuilt, they were only out $2500-$6000...and that's full retail. They don't have jack in these engines.

We all sit around and rag on HD as a whole...HD isn't the problem. The dealers are the problem.

Watching the work being done might be impractical but would switching stealers be.

Couldn't another stealer be authorized to replace his engine just as easily as the current one who has been fumbling along for weeks???

File with the BBB to have it recorded that they BSed you around (against that particular dealer)(even if the dealer is now fixing it because of the HD rep)

If the Harley rep wasn't in the picture yet.. and bike is getting fixed.. I'd totally suggest sending off a detailed letter/proof of your problem with your states attorney general.

Before sending it.. call the business, tell em you filed with the BBB and if you don't repair the problem they caused, you will mail a full detailed letter to the states attorney general that same day... 9 times out of 10.. they will be fixing your problem that day

All this is of course after trying to deal with it directly.

Sorry That I have not posted in a while........ Yes I got the bike back. It took 3 1/2 weeks for them to install the engine. Worst service ever. Bike had grease all over it, the chrome exhaust shields were not on straight and then I found the rear Y bolt not even put on. I went over the bike with a fine tooth comb and found the belt drive had 1 inch of play in it!!!!!! Suffolk Harley SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS . I have put a little over 2000 miles on it(thank god for heated gear) and all seems well. I Now drive 15 miles out of my way to another dealer just to buy my oil and filters. Every time I pass Suffolk Harley I give them the 1 finger salute. I can not thank all the people that IMed me and all the posts of support, this is by far one of the best web sites out there. Thank you one and all and ride safe.

I'm assuming you are still within the 2 yr warr period. Do you have your recp't where you purchased the Syn-3 oil?

I'd contact a lawyer. I'd contact the BAR, and consumer affairs. Contact your local D.A. (They have a consumer affairs division - our tax dollars pay for it)

Calmly go in with guns a blazin. Don't back down. They F-ed your motor up the 1st time. I'd demand a diff one from the factory. It sounds like the clowns at this dealer
