Gettin Screwed!!!!
Thanks Bro, and you are right. There are way to many stories out there about dealers pulling all kinds of stuff. We as customers in general are very loyal to this company and this crap needs to end. Stand behind your product and make believe that the person who just gave you 20 plus thousand is important to you.
Cases don't crack themselves after a repair was made unless the mechanic botched something up.
They obviously did something wrong in this case to cause the problems you are having here and don't want to pay for what is necessary to fix it even though they could probably work it under warranty if they knew what they were doing (which obviously they don't).
They don't obviously have the oil to prove that it was "bad" so they can't back it up with an oil report either. The syn 3 is crap in any event but at least it was their oil, they are pretty honest there.
Maybe you should post "Lenny's " phone number and if they got a few hundred phone calls about the type of work they do, it may change things.
I have had a problem with a company and contacted the state attorney general and the outcome was that what I paid was refunded and it was more than I paid too.
Just another avenue that they really wouldn't want to see with the state AG.
As far as the BBB, save your time there. All they do is record the action and do little/nothing about it.
I hope the outcome is favorable for you.
Good luck!

I learned a lot watching this thread: keep all receipts and documentation of maintenance i.e. regular scheduled required service performed which I already do. If dealership fails to honor warranty (I purchased 5yr) call the MOCO. This story did have me angry at the dealership and their shoddy excuses. My faith has been restored with the MOCO, but hope it never has to come to what Hoginthesky just went through.
Just to add my 2 cents...when you talk to the rep, maybe have a note card filled out with all your facts laid out. That will help keep you calmer and more focused and you won't forget to bring something up. If you are doing your own service, you hopefully have a log or something to show when oil was changed and what was used. If you were using the HD branded oil, I don't see how they could fault that. If you are going for a specific outcome, like engine replacement, then be sure you work to that and not just let them come up with a remedy that won't satisfy you. Hang in there.
That is very good news. I am glad it is working out for you, finally! To bad it had to go so long without you knowing the outcome.
At least the rest of us can have some hope that MOCO will do the right thing.

A few things to read about the warranty and the dealers.

Sorry for the short post before...was at work and had to keep it short. Drinking a tall cold one now. For the first time in weeks I'm not pissed off! I'm so glad I did not have to go the lawyer route. My bike is in one hundred pieces so It was not really practical to have them assemble it and then have it towed so another dealer could rip it apart. Hopefully they will do every thing correctly so our relationship will end on a good note. I was lucky I had the receipts for the oil,but the rep really did not press me on it. The guy was really a class act, in that all he cared about(and said it a couple of times) was to get me back on my bike so I could ride. He did not question me like a perp, and for the first time during all this B.S. treated me like I was there customer, and wanted me to stay that way!!! I now feel great about the MoCo in that they will stand behind there product. Because they were fair with me, they will have my loyalty for a very long time. I will learn how to post Pics and when I get her back I will show you why I went through all this grief. There might be better looking bikes out there( I know because I look at this dam forum way to much ) but f#$k them all, there is no other bike out there that can bring a smile to my face like mine.
Glad you are getting the new engine and the problem seems to be getting resolved to your satisfaction.
Suggestion: Edit your original post to report the new engine authorized by the rep for the MOCO. It will save folks from having to read three pages of misery to find out this important new fact.
