Default Temecula Ca

I've been following the harassing of bikers by the local LEO in this town and others around our great country.

I’m grateful that in my state in this very dire economy all local business needs customers more than ever. This would not happen here because people would not stand for it. Any and I mean any business would be thrilled to have 20 bikers pull up and spend money.

If a biker or bikers are causing trouble that’s one thing but to be harassed over a helmet or exhaust is bullsh.......t.

The next thing will be no loud TV in your home after 10 pm or loud talking after 11 pm, ya think I’m kidding....

Bikers spend money, and 99% are law abiding good people, who like to customize there bikes.

How many small business owners who service these bikes with custom parts etc would lose there business if we stopped using there parts. How many people does Samson Pipes employ?
Or CC, or Drag etc......my cousins shop has 5 full time employees with families who need there jobs a lot of which entails putting on custom exhaust pipes.

Here is contact info to call or email the mayor in Temecula and voice your concerns.

Let Those Who Ride Decide……………….

Check out related post in the "Pacific" forum. Seems like things have settled down in Temecula.

Just a reminder that the laws that the LEOs enforce are put in place by the politicians that YOU elect.

Yea... It sucks but it's not a local ordinance it's a State Law in California that has been on the books for many years and some of the Cities enforce it more now as there are more riders and most of the time it's the community that bring it to the officials attention that they DO NOT WANT the noise any longer.

I'm from Riverside and took a ride Saturday 10/18 to Temecula. Hadn't been there for awhile and didn't know of the controversy. I walk into the smoke shop and the clerk/owner says, "hey have you seen this?" She shows me the paper about the "Noise Abatement Initiative" for want of a better phrase. Normally on Sat. mornings, it's azzes-to-elbows with bikes--now I know why it seemed so "quiet." She said business owners were complaining about alarms being set off by loud pipes, and the LEOs respond to business owners. I asked her how business was, and she said so far "OK," but I think she was getting a bad feelin' about the long-term impact of a crackdown. Bikes=$, and not just what you dump into the machine.

Yep, but we ALL KNOW that a cop has discretion. He can talk nicely to you, or he can taser you, Bro, or anything in between.

I don't know what's happining around the rest of the USA, but in Texas over the last few years the smaller towns (4,000-20,000 pop.) have REALLY began to court and cultivate the Biker world. Guess they have found out that Bikes and Bikers = big dollars $$$$. And they NEED the dollars!

I've never had a problem in Old Town. I ride through it almost everyday. Heck, I rode through tonight (had to get a quick 30 minute ride in). Albeit, I stay away during the weekends...WAY too busy with traffic.

Quaid HD is about 1/2 mile down the road...out of the way of Old Town.

Heck, I even had a bike cop (on a Harley...they all are in Temecula) wave to me...it wasn't in Old Town, but it was the FIRST EVER cop that wave to me while I was riding on my bike.
