Thanks for the replies to all. It appears that there are two identical connectors, the one I am using is what is listed in the owners manual as the accessory connector but apparently there is another 4 pin Deutsch hidden in there somewhere, I will look tonight.
I see the two different ones in the schematic now, one 4 wire and one 3 wire.
Not sure yet what the 4 pin Deutsch I am using is intended for, but will find out!
I have been wondering that too. My accessory plug is under the seat but the Owners Manual incorrectly shows it under the left side cover. There are 2 under the left side cover - one is the data port - does anyone know what the other one is?
I believe you are looking at the data connector. I made the same mistake. In the owners manual for my 2008 Ultra there is a photo identifying the data connector as the accessory connector! grrrr.....
What ya want to switch? Would be carefull what size current draw you put off the Acc switch. I put a relay off the Acc switch to switch my heating gloves on/off.
definately would not wire the moto lights thru the accessory switch, unless you're using the relay harness for them. They draw too much wattage.
harness connects directly to the battery with a relay.. relay is wired into the accessory switch. when on, it engages the realy and the lamps draw directly from the battery.
Have 3 harnesses on mine for the lights, nother relay one for the air horn. and a heated clothing harness is also on the battery - connector for the thermostat sticks out the side under the seat.
no high wattage goes thru my switches
