Hey Top Cat where did you get the pipes and how much $$$??? Thanks...
The reason for the long rear pipe is a thing called equal length pipes before the collector. If you pay attention to any exhaust system, thats the way to make power. Some people like exhaust for sound, some for looks, and some to extract the most power the motor is capable of.
Its your bike and your money, If you like BIG pipes off the heads, thats great, but you are losing the exhaust velocity and scavaging effect
BTW.........The Bassani Road Rage has a stepped header pipe's that are equal length before the collector. The pipes are ceramic coated, which holds the heat in the pipe. A hotter exhaust travels faster than a cooler exhaust. Plain chromed pipes pull the heat out of the exhaust, just as large pipes let the exhaust cool as they travel out the pipes.
To those who think the 2 into 1 looks funny on a bagger, I guess you would know first hand, as you would be looking at mine all the time if we ride together
I've got them on my Road King w/ my new Head-Quarters 95" build. They look good, they sound good and let me tell you, they perform!! I'm going to the tuner on 4-14 and I fully expect numbers close to 110/110. This thing will pull your shoulders out of their sockets and the Road Rage is part of that. And that's w/ a sh!tty canned map and no tuning.

I have had my share of Muscle cars and Bassani makes a very, very competitive exhaust system with Bassani it's about performance not sound however, they do try to incorporate an awesome sound in all their pipes. I absolutely LOVE them ...
