Come on now, be honest here.....how many of you go through separation anxiety when your touring bike (or any Harley that you own) is in the shop for service? It is like, something is missing in your life. It is hard to believe that a motor vehicle can have that type of influence over someone. I just got her back after a two day separation. She was warmly welcomed back into the household.
Think about me, I hit a deer with my Ultra on Oct. 1, 2008 and with the waiting for insurance, and thinking about trading to a 09 or keeping my 08, I will be missing "Old Blue" until sometime in late Jan. or early Feb. 2009.
Believe it or not, I had a big one when I traded my '06 RKC for a new '09 Ultra. Tears welled up in my eyes and my chest hurt inside. After 250 miles of riding my new bike, I overcame my S.A. feeling and am proud to say ULTRA !.
RKC's still at the dealership awaiting for it's new 2nd owner. I always stop by, meet/greet/touch it and say Hi. If I had the extra money...I'd like to buy it back, LOL.
I always keep more than one bike at the ready.....the thing is I just hate to let any of the family have a sleep over away from home....even for just one night. Thats yet another reason I do all my own wrenching!
I got to ride mine for 400 miles before my leave was over and i had to come back to iraq. And i am going back just in time to miss riding season. Sigh, it hurts.
