Default GPS Recommendations Please..

Looking for recommendations on a GPS system for an '06 Ultra-Classic. Reviews on the H-D GPS system or others. If I'm gonna shell out big $$ for a GPS system, I'd like all the info. I can get a hold of before I make my decision - so pro's and con's would be appreciated..

Thanks in advance !

I have used several different GPS Units over the years. So far, I like the Quest 2 by Garmin the best. It has the entire US in it's database, is not damaged from bike vibration. Is waterproof and easily mounted. The HD mounting system will work with the unit, however I didn't like the idea of drilling holes in my inner fairing. I mounted mine on the handle bar and wired it to the OEM power points in the fairing. I used a RAM handle bar mount withshort extension, connected to a Garmin motorcycle mount. It is easily removed for security and mounts quickly.

OK...I'll be 1st. Do a search...All kindsa threads on whats best. Most will come up Garmin 26** or the new 27** series. And I'd say most use the RAM mount.
Heres a pic of my 2610. I really like it, but hear the 27** are that much better with built in MP3 player and satellite radio.

This is what people I know are recommending

The Garmin 2610-

If you do go with the 2610 I would also suggest getting part number: 10495-02. It's the power/audio cable with bare wires for $25. Makes it really easy for wiring up to your motorcycle without having to add a cigarette adaptor, etc.

Also if considering the 2610 do not look at the 2620. Get the 2610 with a 2gb card. The 2620 uses a microdrive...ie moving parts like in a harddrive, that can crash in a motorcycle atmosphere. CF cards don't have moving parts like a microdrive.

The Garmin 2720 also

Holly Cow Bat Man!!! The 2610 is a lot of Coin!! I think that I will stick with my Garmin 76CS. It is about 1/4 of the cost.

Installed the Garmin Map60cx with a ram mount. Has the new Sirf3 chipset that locks on the satellites even at my home away from windows. Nice portable unit where you can use it in the car or motorcycle.

Search, Search - I wanted one but have decided to put it off for awhile - I am also of the thinking that I do not want something on my bike that I am going to be tempted to look at when I should be looking at the traffic/road - Not trying to tell other how to ride or what to do, just my .02 here.

From my looking, I liked the Quest2 - $$$$$ and AAA maps are free... lol
